Birds of a Feather

Me, last night, getting ready for a night out with the hubs...I thought it would be fun to pair my feather skirt with a tailored blazer. Personally, I think this look could even be 'office-appropriate'. I def found my new fave photo spot here too! You like?
Today's going to be an awesome start to the weekend! I'm going out for breakie in a few with a friend, and then a few other meetings. Hope everyone has lots of FUN planned!

Outdoor Living

Yesterday involved a lot of relaxing, recovering from the weekend, and catching up with some of my sisters...I've been missing my friends from home SO much lately! I love it here, but sometimes it feels so far away!
I'm starting a new project shortly- Spicing up my porch! It's time to make it into a supreme outdoor living space! We basically face a jungle in the backyard, which makes it the perfect relaxation spot. Here's me, hanging out there yesterday!

Wedding Weekend!

Last weekend we went to our friends' wedding and had the best time! They had the most AWESOME candy buffet I've EVER seen! I definitely got my sugar fix that night! They also had a super fun photo booth- which you can see we took full advantage of! It was awesome to hang out with friends we don't get to see very often, and watch two awesome people commit their lives to each other!
Love...le sigh!

Veggies and Mustard Legs

I don't cook very often because I really just don't enjoy it that much. I WISH i was one of those people that found it relaxing and fun, but to me, it's just stressful and annoying and i'm always left with a huge mess! Here's my attempt at something...really it just involved throwing any ingredients i could find into one pot and boiling them together! certainly was colorful, although, when it was done it looked 'kind like barf, but tastes ok' (direct quote from hubs!) haha and yes, we do end up eating out a lot!
Outfit post...it's been awhile, i know...i just always forget or am in a hurry...plus i don't have the most exciting wardrobe! anyway, wearing Karen Kane lace top, TSE sweater, United Colors skirt, Hue mustard tights, UGGS- that i have been living in!

I love bows

I fell in love with this Ralph Lauren tie neck blouse and finally got around to buying it! I was having trouble finding something to wear with it, because it's more preppy than I normally go. I paired it with my dark purple high-waist skirt, a high bouncy bun, blue tights, boots and was good to go!

Pink Pepper

I finally got my dress in the mail...I saw this dress in NYC in May, but didn't want to pay $50. It's super-light jersey and pretty sheer. I found it online (on sale!) and decided it was time to get it! It's super long, which is a rare find, especially since it's Roxy, and their stuff tends to fit small and short.
Anyway, I LOVE it and it's super comfy! Perfect for making pickle and mustard sandwiches and chillin' with the animals and fiance!

Holi-daze

Here is a mini-montage of random holiday pics- it was such an awesome Christmas! I overpacked- as usual, drove 10 hours with my fiancee to Florida- shopped along the way, gave huge hugs to the fam, spent a whole afternoon underwater taking pics, I went to the beach, hung out with family I don't get to see enough, made gingerbread houses, ate Christmas food, talked about the wedding, shopped, watched tons of Christmas movies, got to wear my new Katy Rodriguez dress and brightest lipstick I own, hung out in the sun, and just generally had a super fun time! Home now, and I miss everyone- and the sunshine! But, I get to do some more work on our house which is exciting! I didn't make any resolutions this year- I guess I usually don't because I forget about them after about 2 weeks! Did you guys make any? Hopefully everyone had an AMAZING holiday and I know 2010 is going to be the best year yet!!! XOX

Perfect Pearing

I found this Lily Pulitzer blouse at Tjmaxx...I don't like too much of her stuff, but I've definitely learned to not hate/love a particular brand because that can sway your decision to not buy, or to buy something that's not really all that cool! I think it's important to buy things you LOVE. otherwise it will probably just sit at the back of the closet. Ever get in that mood where you just want to buy something because you've had a bad day? Or a really good day? haha... well remember, you can always return it if it turns out to be just an impulse purchase (I forget about that sometimes!)
Anyway, back to the blouse, my fave part of it is....

Pocket Protector

Do I look ready to learn, or what!? haha...there's nothing like a first day of school to make you feel like a kid again! Today was nuts- I ran around all day trying to figure out my schedule and then met up with my friend (who just moved into her super cute first HOUSE!) for a delicious mexican dinner!
I had my first studio class, in which we started draping. I'm so excited to make more clothes! Starting my research for the spring collection...any thoughts?!

White Out

Today I watched excessive amounts of HGTV, sewed a giant, sparkly purple sash, devoured some fashion mags, made a jar of tea, sorted my (severely overflowing) box of inspiration pics, ate half a watermelon, made a necklace, arranged my shoes by season and color, ran a few random errands...
Anyway, time for some much needed beauty sleep!

Summer Heat

It was super hot yesterday, but I'm one of those "always cold" people and my BF insists on cranking the A/C, so I always end up in a fat sweater by the end of the day!

Casual White

Happy Monday Beauties!
Sunday for me always includes some lounging, catching up on reading, and just generally relaxing! This one involved my September Bazaar! hehe
I was feeling the whites yesterday. I got these linen pants at Guess last year- I love them because (you can't see in the pic) they have gold thread pinstripes that just add such a fun detail! The top is from Old Navy, where I rarely go because I have a hard time finding things that fit me well and that I feel are good quality. This top (on sale for $8!) is super soft, long, and has ruffles- which I can never get enough of!

I've been tagged by the FAB Gerri to reveal 10 random facts about myself...so here goes!

1. I get ridiculously excited about the smallest things- I think it freaks people out if they don't know me :P
2. Charleston, SC is my favourite city- it's where my BF is from and where I want to live!
3. I check out girls waaay more than guys (which my BF appreciates! haha) because I like to see what they're wearing.
4. I am obsessed with Frank's Red Hot- best hot sauce ever- and sometimes I drink it out of the bottle!
5. Along with designing clothes, I also want to be a consultant so I can help women look their best and feel good about themselves- SO important, right!?
6. When people walk by me, they always look at my feet (I just recently realized this and figured out why- it's because I'm freak tall and they're looking to see if I'm wearing heels!)
7. I HATE clutter but I have the hardest time getting rid of things- this includes empty cereal boxes- they are just so colourful and fun! See what I mean?! (I'm working on it...)
8. I met my boyfriend in Sweden when we were both studying abroad- it's nuts when I think of all the things in our lives that had to happen to get us both there at the same time...
9. I love talk-radio. I will always choose NPR over music. I know, so nerdy!
10. I spy on my boyfriend when he's getting dressed and then try to match his outfit! He gets mad, but I think that he secretly likes it!

Saturday Styles

The BF and I went to Southpark (the really nice mall near us), and then out for dinner with some friends. There are so many sales on right now...it was really hard to resist. But, I'm making a big effort to "shop my closet" and rediscover things that have been hiding in the back!

Coffee or Tea?

Still camera-less! Boo...so relying on the compy-cam! I finally got to wear my Marc Jacobs dress last week (also took it to Vegas, where I also left it! Yikes! No worries though, my amaxing BF saved it!)! I LOOOVE it so much- makes me feel like a flight attendant! Also sporting my new hair...you can't see them well but there are some brownish lowlights!
I'm in the last week of my internship- it's been incredible and I've learned sew (ahahaha) much! I can't wait to get back to studio and make some of my own stuff! Only a few more days in Canada and then it's back to the US!

Old School

Ugh, my camera is dead. I'm smart and left the charger in NC. Anyway, so here's an attempt at using my compycam. Went out on Saturday night to 2 different friends places and walked waaaay too far in 5.5 inch heels! Yes, they do make me 6'6. Ridiculous. It was such a fun night, but I definitely needed it to be longer! I'm going to get my hair cut tomorrow and I'm not sure if I should get bangs, some brown chunks, layers...maybe all three! I'm trying to grow my hair but it gets to a certain length and starts falling out- ie. NOW! sucky. So, any suggestions?! I need heeeelp!

Travel Time!

I'm SO excited because tomorrow I fly home (my other one) to Charlotte!!! It's the BF's birthday and we're going to party! I'm also super excited to see my silly CAT (see above)!!!! ahahahaha Okay, well I have a lot of packing/ outfit planning to do- I'm really going to make an effort to pack light, which you think would be easy since I left half my clothes there...

Country Clubbin'

Yes, another gratuitous outfit post! Last night was my aunt's birthday so we went to the golf club to celebrate! I had a delicious peanut chicken salad with pears, walnuts and a strange new cheese that I had not heard of and now forget! Also some calamari, roti, and sweet potato fries! Oh and a white wine that was surprisingly delicious! Yup, guess I was hungry! It was lots of fun- and a little nuts, as usual with the fam!
