Who's excited for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show?! ME! haha. The BF, no, fiancee (!) and I watch it every year...I really have to tie him to the couch for this one! haha. Anyway, here's a sneak peek! I want Miranda Kerr's black outfit and especially those boots!!! The show will be on TV December 1st!
p.s. My unbelievably lucky friend in NYC auditioned to be in the audience (it was based purely on looks!) and made it!!! Yay Kirsten!

Cake Time!

Don't these look incredible!? I bet they taste pretty good too! My faves are the one that says 'love', the white one with pink/purple flowers and butterflies, and the weird one with the yellow circle- I know, SO bizarre...but there's just something about it that works! Which ones do you like?!

There's something very sassy about sparkly shorts...they're so perfect for the holidays, if you want an hot alternative to a cocktail dress, or just wear with a plain tee! Too Faced Pink Leopard Bronzer- A shimmery, gorgeous color! Sometimes I like to go a little overboard with this stuff! (I sparkle like a vampire- New Moon on Friday! Woohoo!)

This foundation blends so well and has some awesome staying power! As for the HD part, well I haven't tested that out yet...But it's super smooth and provides coverage without looking thick- no one wants that!
Can't stop smelling myself!!!...ok, I'm OBSESSED! Every time I'd walk by this perfume I'd have to spray some on, so finally I caved and got it- best purchase EVER!

Appreciate! Regardless of what you think of her, you can't deny that Olivia Palermo has KILLER style! Not to mention that she's just BEAUTIFUL! Milestones

Surprise!

I have such exciting news!
Friday night, my BF surprised me with...an ENGAGEMENT RING!!!!!!!!
Yes, it's true! We're getting MARRIED!!! I'm SO EXCITED!!! haha can you tell?! He's the coolest guy in the whole world and my best friend! I can't stop staring at my sparkling finger either! haha
Now for the fun part...wedding planning! Personally, I LOVE planning things- especially parties! It's going to be tough to choose everything though because I love so many things!
So just a warning, this blog may getting a little more wedding-y! I've been walking around on this little happy cloud for the past few days! I hope everyone had a super fun weekend and here are some fun pics to get you in the wedding mood!

Friday I'm In Love

Hey Dolls!
Ahhhh...FINALLY the weekend! YAY! This week has been busy, and although there's a bit of work to be done this weekend, I plan to take it easy! First of all, I spent so much time this week (procrastinating) making a video for you guys for my October Faves and I just can't get it to post! Anyway, i'll keep working on it but it's sooo frustrating! (I am so not tech-savvy!)
I stayed at school last night, so I'm SO excited to bet back to my BF and cat! Yes, it's only been like a day, but what can I say...I'm SO in LOVE!
This weekend there are so many things I want to do...

Sleep in and snuggle...
Enjoying autumn! The fall weather is just starting to kick in, and the colors are out. I love some nice sweater weather- as long as it doesn't get much colder!

Going to check out the puppies that are up for adoption! I know we can't get one yet, but that doesn't stop me from planning!!!

What's black, white, and found in a barn?

The Chanel Spring 2010 Fashion Show, of course! What else would I be talking about?!
I actually like this collection more than any Chanel one I have seen in a long time! It's fresh and fun, full of lace, tulle, ruffles and sweet volume. Not a fan of the clog-y footwear, but it did suit the venue. The only thing that would have made this show better would be some well dressed chickens, sheep, and cows on the runway!
(PS- definitely need the first dress for my wedding after party!) I'm always a huge fan of white for spring, and there was definitely a fabulous lot of it. Thanks Karl!

Beauty Review

NARS Sin/Casino Duo
I am in LOVE with this Blush/Bronzer duo! I've been using the uberpopular Orgasm/Laguna for awhile (which I also love!) but wanted to try something different and more fall/winter-ish. Sin is a mauve-pink color with slight gold shimmer that I thought might be too dark for my fair skin, but I use just a teeny bit and the color is perfect! Casino is a bit darker than Laguna and less orangy (which i really like)- perfect for a little contouring! I would definitely recommend this for anyone- even if you have fair skin- don't be scared! It's soooo pretty and it will last forever!

Best Food Ever

It was 8:52 pm last night, and the BF and I were driving home from the mall where we watched an fashion show. We were both so hungry and immediately thought of IKEA. I guess I probably haven't mentioned this before, but a new IKEA opened up pretty close to us and we go there a lot- to EAT (well, sometimes we work up an appetite by walking through the place)! If you live close to an IKEA, and want to get the most inexpensive (50cent hot dogs, people!), most delicious meal ever, seriously, GO THERE (we hang out in the 'bistro'- the snack bar by the exit)!
So back to last night...IKEA is about 10 miles away. I call our friend Aaron to see what time it closes, and he tells me what I was afraid of...9pm. Uh oh...But we bet we can still make it, so we book it down the highway (safely, of course!). We make it there at 9:02, and sneak in- GREAT SUCCESS!!! 5 hotdogs, 1 bag of chips, 1 pop, 1 ice cream, and 1 cinnamon bun later, we are way too excited about making it! Hahaha so nerdy! What do normal people do on Friday nights!?

Workin' It

This weekend, I got to be a part of the fashion show at the Rock and Shop Market in Durham! It was so much fun and I met lots of cool people! It was pretty last minute, so I didn't have time to make anything new. These pieces are from past shows and collections I've done. Here are a few backstage pics with my HOT models!

3 Treasures

This Make Up Forever HD Powder is A- MAZing! You put it on last to set your makeup and it just leaves such a smooth finish- seriously sweet! It's pure silica and although the powder is white, it just disappears when you put it on! Plus, you only need a tiny bit (just throw it on with a big fluffy brush!) so it'll last forever!

MAC lipstick in Pink Nouveau- such a BRIGHT pink- LOVE it...my BF says it makes me look Eastern (European)- and it does! (But I am, so just rockin' it! haha)
I wanted a more neutral (me? neutral? yes, trying to tone it down a bit!) palette and I fell in love with this Urban Decay one...okay, so there are GIANT chunks of glitter in 4 of the colors (you can't really see in the pic) and 3 have small glitter. So the colors may be more neutral but the glitter is out there! (okay, so I guess not so much with the toning it down...I'll try harder next time!)
The BF and I were looking at diamond rings (EEEK!) the other day and the saleslady was saying how is just the nature of women to be attracted to sparkly things...no one knows why! And it's so true!

Bird Lady

Went to Dixie Classic Fair last night! Deep fried oreos anyone?! haha they are de-LISH!
I fed some goats and camels and went to the bird barn- was hoping to see some ducks, but there were none to be found!
I did see some crazy chickens with feathered feet- some good inspiration for the runways right there! I wish i had my camera, but it was one of those random trips, so no chance to prepare! Have a fun Wednesday and hopefully there's sunshine wherever you are!!!

Saturday Morning Blues

Glam Time

Going out tonight for my friend's birthday! Woohoo, an opportunity to get out of bummy school clothes! Getting some makeup inspiration from the Spring '10 shows...I'm in LOVE with Dior (first look) and I have that exact lipstick color (MAC Dsquared collection 'Blood Red'- SO pretty and dramatic! Will review soon!). Not sure if I could rock the orange (Prada) with my skin tone. Next two: Dolce & Gabbana- obsessed with this look but I think that could be for daytime. Lanvin- mmm...seriously smokey eyes- love it with the nude lip! I've been wearing nude lipstick obsessively for the past few weeks, so I think it's time for some color!

Time Out

This semester is just flying by. School is nuts and exhausting. Sometimes I sleep in the studio. I'm so busy that I don't have any time for my fun side projects, and my pile of unread fashion mags is growing...and all I want to do is STOP for a minute, but then I'd just immediately fall behind! The BF and I are trying to get in as much house-hunting as possible. We got bad news this weekend when we found out our dream house sold...It's hard to let it go, but I know we'll find something perfect!
I can't wait until Christmas (oh, and Thanksgiving- DEF. the US holiday that I have fallen in LOVE with!) when I can lie on the beach and float for hours in the ocean...mmm. It's October already and hopefully it's been a gorgeous start to fall for everyone! Still warm here and I'm loving it! Loving you guys too! Thanks for every single one of your comments! You have no idea how much they make my day!

It's definitely a Love/Hate thing for me with Marc by Marc Jacobs. The Spring '10 collection is no different, although I think there are more 'hate' pieces (sometimes the styling was the only bad part). Here's a run down for you...
These ones I like- I'm a sucker for ruffles. Would wear cardi and knit granny-panties if i had this girl's body (paired with some nude, thigh-high boots, of course!).

OMG! Such a sweet, sweet find! I never buy body wash because it's probably the biggest waste of money, when you can get like 23 bars of soap for the same price! This Dial Tropical Escape is the most delicious soap EVER! It makes my whole bathroom smell like a tropical paradise! I highly recommend it- there are way more fun things to spend money on than body wash! So save up and get this soap! I'm all about bringing you some sweet deals! xox

The other day, I picked up this super pretty Sonia Kashuk case for my makeup brushes. (Loving Target and their special makeup artist collections!) I'm in LOVE with the pattern and the silver clasp detailing. I haven't tried any of her makeup, but I do love the brushes. They're good quality and very affordable. If anyone has tried anything from her line, I'd love to hear some reviews!
Also picked up MAC eyeliner in Coffee (It's a dark brown- obv, hence the 'coffee' name). I was tired of black, and brown is just much softer for my light skin- but still dark enough to wear out at night. Also love it- the pencil is super soft.
Dangerous though because there are several other MAC products that I fell in love with as well...you'll see them soon! xxx

My Sunshine

As you probably know by now, I always look forward to the Moschino Cheap and Chic show, and this season was exactly what I expected and hoped for. It's always such a playful collection, the mischevious younger sister of the Moschino collection. Even the simple outfits are quirky and I can never get enough of their signature bows! (Kt- I don't know how well the sunnies would sell, but they are fun!) My faves are the pink, super-ruffley eyelet dress, top with DUCKY on it, and sleeveless white blazer. Anyway, image-heavy for your enjoyment! Happy Friday everyone!
(Joe and I were going to go to Atlanta for the Petit Le Mans race, but there's some serious rain and flooding happening there, so I think we're going to pass! ) xox

Blake Lively was my 'Best Dressed' at Sunday's Emmy's. The Versace Fall '10 dress was stunning on her and I loved her hair. Such a young, fun look- and she pulled it off amazingly!

L'Wren Scott, Spring '10. Amazing colors, textures and shapes. From velvet, to leather to chiffon to feathers...can I please touch?! The collection is super soft and feminine but has that little bit of glam edginess that makes it fresh and makes me want it in my closet!

I'm the biggest fan of mixed prints, and no one does it better than Anna Sui! Her Spring '10 collection is no exception. Her clothes are always cool, always femme and always exciting. This collection has a few more boyish looks (ie. Lily Donaldson, first look) which are fresh, but still super girlie. There are amazing prints, embroidery, killer shoes, and perfect colors! And can someone please get me one of those adorable printed ties- STAT!

September Faves!

Lifewater. Mmm...this flavour (fuji apple pear) is soooo tasty! It's very important to stay hydrated and this definitely helps me out!

Loving the new Project Runway! It's one of the first seasons I've been able to follow. Also, 2 girls from Charleston! It's on tonight- so excited! PS. I heart Time Gunn!

This palette is seriously the best thing EVER!!! I've been going a little nuts with the colors. You definitely need primer underneath it, but then it lasts all day! The shimmer is fun, but not crazy, so you can wear it anytime for some sparkle! I SERIOUSLY recommend it!

I can't get enough of the flowiness, ease and COLOR in the Tibi Spring '10 show! The makeup is amazing- DEF. trying that out when I get home tonight! The collection makes me want to be somewhere super tropical, NOW. I love that the outfits were not overstyled- no jewelry necessary and the shoes are so simple and perfect!

AHHHH! My GORGEOUS and FABULOUS friend Gosia is featured in the October issue of Marie Claire in the 'Beauty Roadshow: Montreal' section! Imagine me, sitting on a friend's couch in North Carolina, flipping through the magazine. I turn the page and think- wow, that looks like my friend....then I proceed to FREAK OUT when I realize it IS HER!!!

Reading Fashion

Free Spirit

It's been a long week. I flew home to Toronto this weekend for my grandma's funeral. She passed away last week, at a young 102. She really was the most amazing woman I've ever met. She was incredibly elegant and stylish, and even after 100 years of life, she still made the effort to look her best. Always laughing, smiling and happy- not to mention super active and exuberant! She always had some life advice to offer, which was somehow always relevant. She just knew. When I think about all the things she lived through in Poland (both wars, escaping with 5 small children...) it's just crazy. I'm so happy to have known her for so much of my life and although I'll miss her, I know she's so happy now, forever! I love you, Babcia. XOX

HOT-lanta!

This weekend in Atlanta was SO much fun! I drove down on friday with my new hottie friend, Crystal. We got there just in time to meet up with the team and get some dinner. The little derby car (that my amazing bf designed!) was already in the pit, waiting for its run!

Saturday morning we got up early to be at the race site- there were an insane amount of Red Bull girls handing out more drinks than you could carry.The first of many....

Perfect Pearing

Ready for class...
I found this Lily Pulitzer blouse at Tjmaxx...I don't like too much of her stuff, but I've definitely learned to not hate/love a particular brand because that can sway your decision to not buy, or to buy something that's not really all that cool! I think it's important to buy things you LOVE. otherwise it will probably just sit at the back of the closet. Ever get in that mood where you just want to buy something because you've had a bad day? Or a really good day? haha... well remember, you can always return it if it turns out to be just an impulse purchase (I forget about that sometimes!)
Anyway, back to the blouse, my fave part of it is....

Shimmer Time

Hello Beauties!
So, recently I've been exploring makeup a bit more...I've always been a "just the basics" kind of girl- especially since I'd rather spend money on clothes! But, lately I've been reading TONS of makeup reviews and blogs, and it's totally inspired me to try something new!
Maybe something like this?

Anyway, since I don't really know what I like/what colours are best for me, I thought I'd try this Coastal Scents palette with 88 different shades! Yup, 88! There's no point in buying expensive brands if you don't know what you like (PS. this palette is recommended by lots of MAC lovers!)


And the reveiws of it (trust me I've read all of them, and all of their competitors too! Yes, I'm nerdy, but I like to have all the intel before I make a purchase!) are amazing- seriously, for $20, does it get any better? I got the 'shimmery' palette because I LOVE a little sparkle! It should be arriving soon and I can't wait to let you know what I think- ohh and show you some looks too!
