Cupcake Club

Yesterday I finally used the Groupon that Joe got me for my birthday and picked up my 6 beautiful cupcakes from Just Baked! Rowley and I had a little party and definitely ended up sugar-high, sprawled out on the front lawn. Rowley's always down for a good time- especially when cupcakes are involved!
All cupcake descriptions are from their website (justbakedlkn.com)- you can see all the flavors they offer- but beware: reading this will lead to mad scramble for cupcakes!
It will now be impossible for me to drive by their shop without stopping in. Great. :P

Triple Vanilla- Vanilla bean cupcake with a creamy vanilla bean center and topped fluffy vanilla frosting. Finished off with vanilla bean soaked sugar crystals.
I'm a huge fan of frosting, so the extra inside was an awesome surprise!

Midnight Orange- Dark chocolate cake filled with whipped orange mousse, topped with dark chocolate butter cream, chocolate shavings and a sugared orange zest.
Although Rowley and I aren't normally fans of fruit mixed with chocolate, this cupcake was AMAZING! and almost too pretty to eat. Almost.

Chocolate Cream Filled- Our version of the old fashioned Hostess Cupcake. Cream filled
chocolate cupcake topped with chocolate ganache.
Also got big points with the extra frosting inside!

Little Italy- Our version of the amazing Italian dessert Tiramisu...Light and fluffy cupcake infused with a coffee rum syrup, topped with a mascarpone frosting, a dusitng of cocoa powder and a single chocolate covered espresso bean.
This one had so many different, delicious flavors...and a little mushier (technical term) on the inside, which i actually really liked! Rowley's second fave.

Strawberries and Cream- Sweet and moist vanilla cupcake filled with our house made strawberry puree and covered with a strawberry cream cheese frosting and a fresh strawberry
Hands down Rowley's fave! We tried to save some of each one for Dad, but this one didn't make it! For me it was a tie between this one and the Midnight Orange. Definitely pleasantly surprised with the fruit ones!

Signature Chocolate- Our signature chocolate cake, moist and decadent, topped with creamy chocolate butter cream and shaved valhrona chocolate.
Definitely delish, but wouldn't be my first choice only because I like to try more exotic flavors!

Are you hungry yet?!
Happy Friday Luvers! I hope everyone has an awesome weekend!
XO

Rowley!

My Pupster!

I can't believe how big she is! She's 5 months old and such a little troublemaker, but I love her! Getting a dog is one of the best things I've ever done and if you ever have the chance, get one!!!

Look at that face... :P

Home Sweet Home

Yes, yes I do need more decorating inspiration pics! I'm thinking of re-doing our hot pink dining room. I just wanted it to be more FUSCHIA than hot pink...anyway, here are a few rooms I wish were in my house!
I have a whole camera full of pics to share, but unfortunately my little pupster chewed up my usb card reader...so they're stuck on there til I get a new one! Silly pup.
Yesterday, I fell down the stairs (with Joe and Ben watching :P) trying to stop the cat from running out the front door (don't worry, only a few patches of rug-burn and some big ugly bruises!). So much for saying that only an idiot could fall down those stairs...hehe. My animals are nuts, but I love them!

FINALLY!

My new (super-snuggly!) puppy, ROWLEY!!! I'm SO excited- she really is the cutest thing I've ever seen! She's a boxer- possibly a mix, but the vet's not sure yet. She was rescued and in need of a good home- how could I refuse!? I'm trying to be a good mommy, but I've never had a puppy and there's so much to learn! If anyone has any training tips, I'd love to hear them! I hope everyone has a super fun and relaxing weekend! XOX

Shades of Purple

I picked up a cute pair of dark purple Ray-Ban's the other day- slightly 80's and very fun!

In other news, the puppy search is going slowly...I keep just missing them! I know the right one will show up soon, but it's just so sad to see the others go! Hope everyone's staying warm- I don't know what's wrong with the weather but I'm hoping there's an equally weird heatwave coming next! :P

PUPPYTIME!

We are trying to adopt a puppy and I'm SOOO excited! The BF promised that we'd start looking after Christmas when our house would be set up and ready for a new little friend! Here are two that we will find out about in a few days! Aren't they just heartbreaking?!?!

Friday I'm In Love

Hey Dolls!
Ahhhh...FINALLY the weekend! YAY! This week has been busy, and although there's a bit of work to be done this weekend, I plan to take it easy! First of all, I spent so much time this week (procrastinating) making a video for you guys for my October Faves and I just can't get it to post! Anyway, i'll keep working on it but it's sooo frustrating! (I am so not tech-savvy!)
I stayed at school last night, so I'm SO excited to bet back to my BF and cat! Yes, it's only been like a day, but what can I say...I'm SO in LOVE!
This weekend there are so many things I want to do...

Sleep in and snuggle...
Enjoying autumn! The fall weather is just starting to kick in, and the colors are out. I love some nice sweater weather- as long as it doesn't get much colder!

Going to check out the puppies that are up for adoption! I know we can't get one yet, but that doesn't stop me from planning!!!

Catch up on some reading...new issues arriving soon! (PS. Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson on the cover of December Bazaar!!! Will post shortly!)

Go to IKEA to pick up some fun things for our new house!!! Move in date: t minus 9 days!!!
Check out the MAC Miscief Makers collection that came out yesterday and try not to buy anything. yikes.
Do you guys have fun plans for the weekend!? Live, love, laugh, and don't forget that Halloween candy is on SUPERsale now, so pick it up while there's some left! (i was going to put up a candy pic, but that was a given...hahaha yes, i have a problem!)
LOVE YOU!!!

Bird Lady

Went to Dixie Classic Fair last night! Deep fried oreos anyone?! haha they are de-LISH!
I fed some goats and camels and went to the bird barn- was hoping to see some ducks, but there were none to be found!
I did see some crazy chickens with feathered feet- some good inspiration for the runways right there! I wish i had my camera, but it was one of those random trips, so no chance to prepare! Have a fun Wednesday and hopefully there's sunshine wherever you are!!!

Easter Bunny, I Love You!

Time to break out those pastels again, Chickies! I'm going to look for my pastel plaid suit, hiding in the back of my closet somewhere. It is GORGEOUS here this weekend, so if anyone needs a place to go, let me know!
I hope you all have a super fun Easter and spend lots of time with family and friends!
Huge Bunny Hugs!

Talk Much?!

I heart my friends! I think I talked more today than on any other day in my life so far! I wonder...
Now I'm trying to think of other days when I have talked excessively. It would be fun if there was some way of calculating things like that.
I also went to Milestones twice today (different locations). And ate the same thing. I also had Multigrain Cherrios for breakfast (because I stayed at my bro's place last night) which is strange because I am definitely a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast (more later). I am becoming increasingly OCD, which is slightly disconcerting. Anyway, fun day and now I'm getting in bed!
(I'll have to post pics later because I didn't bring my camera cord...how inconvenient!)

Sweet Spot

Awhile ago, I discovered this really cute website called Hungry Girl. (This is her on the left!) It's a fun website with all kinds of foodie info! A lot of it is based on finding healthy substitutes for the junk food everyone loves, but there's also news about new products, yummy treats, and food related contests! You can also sign up to receive emails that are full of fun restaurant news, good recipes and other healthy tidbits! It's good to be informed, so check it out! Plus, Hungry Girl is pretty freakin' cute and sassy!

Weddings and Woodpeckers

Brownie and I were watching wedding shows on Women's Network today. Brownie says she can't wait to plan her wedding. She wants to have ice cream for dinner and gravy martinis for dessert. I told her she could do anything she wanted because it would be her wedding afterall. She has been trying some online dating but says she's going to stop that for awhile, and go back to more conventional methods- sniffing around.
In other news, our birdfeeders are going crazy! Today, there was a big red-bellied woodpecker hanging out. Joe informed me that this is what it was called and I was slightly confused because the woodpecker's head was red and not its belly. Joe explained to me that there was already a red-headed woodpecker, so they (whoever has the awesome job of naming new species- although I think some of the names could be a little more hip...) had to come up with another one.
Here are the 2 woodpeckers...
This is the Red-bellied guy that was on our tree...Since the one below does obviously have a more red head, why isn't this one called the red-mohawk or red-hat woodpecker or something...the whole red-bellied thing just makes no sense...
Anyway, they're both pretty awesome birds!
P.S. I am looking out the window and Brownie is standing under the tree watching all the birds. Her head is twitching all over the place because she's trying to watch them all at the same time! sooo cute!
