Recession Blues...

The Fall '09 Just Cavalli show went on, despite the fact that the line's manufacturer just went under because of the recession. This means that the collection may never be made. Right now, Cavalli is having trouble finding someone else to manufacture his foxy-grunge collection. Although this clothes is a little out of my price range, I would hate it if it couldn't be made since Cavalli is one of my all-time faves! I'm pretty much over this whole recession thing...I hope they find someone soon!

AHHHH. I am going to dream about this outfit tonight...I am in looooove!
All Louis Vuitton: top $4,201, skirt, $4,501, clutch, $1,935, sandals, $2,475 (don't forget the special order cuff and necklace)
Well, my BF did get a new job...and my birthday is coming up...
Okay, maybe I'll just keep dreaming...

Paint Party

I saw the Fall '09 House of Holland collection and immediately fell in love. Not really because of the clothes (not much new and exciting here) but more because of the paint-chip resemblance! For some reason, there is something about paint-chips that I can't resist (especially the ones named after fruits or vegetables! ahhhh...I know). I can't leave Home Depot without grabbing some samples- I've had this obsession since elementary school and I really have no idea where it came from! One Christmas, my best friend even gave me a giant bundle of chips. It was awesome.
Anyway, I'd wear this stuff, but only if I had the whole outfit! I do think the suits look pretty good on the guys. They'd make good outfits for groomsmen at a spring wedding!
Night lovers!

Oscar loves you!

Here are a few more of my fave Oscar dresses!

1&2. (Christian Dior and Elie Saab)Love the costume change Marion Cottilard did for the after party! Both dresses were stunning and perfect for the respective occasions. She is so beautiful!
3. Jessica Biel in Oscar de la Renta- an improvement from her Oscar dress...although I didn't hate it as much as most people! This colour is gorgeous on her and I love the gold belt.
4. Miley Cirus in Zuhair Murad- what a dream it is for any young girl to be able to dress up all the time...it's like having prom every 2 weeks!
5. Taraji Hensen in Roberto Cavalli- her dress was complex, but simple and so so GORGEOUS! Perfet hair and jewels too. Stunning.

Fantastic Folds

I LOVE the Versace dress Marissa Tomei is wearing (I'm watching right now) to the Oscars! It's by far my favourite gown I saw on the red carpet. I will post some more later, but I just got so excited about her that I couldn't wait to share it! Have a fun night lovers!

Hey Girl Hey!!

Hi everyone! As you know, Caroline has announced that there will be a guest blogger and that is ME! yay! Ok, so to let you guys know a little bit about me, my name is Leah and I'm a fashion major too. Some of my favorite designers are Alexander McQueen, Anna Sui, DVF, Nina Ricci, Alice McCall, Lanvin, Balenciaga, and Zac Posen. My hobbies include sewing, making jewelry, knitting, yoga, and rock climbing. I feel like I have 2 polar opposites when it comes to my style- for example on one day I'll wear black boots tights and a dress and then the next day I'll be in my North Face jacket and a giant furry toboggan. I want to have it all- fashion and functionality. I think that's why I have such schizo style, it might also be because I need those functional jackets and boots for my outdoor hobbies. It's a little hard to be an outdoor fashionista but I'm trying. So that's what you can look forward to: fashion and functionality. I'm going to aim to bring you both when I post on here.

Neutral Territory

Neutral definitely doesn't mean boring! Look for pieces with interesting details and comfortable, natural fabrics. A few basic pieces can take you through spring- just get out those accessories! Here are a few neutrals that are on my Spring Must Haves list:

Madewell demin boiler-room Jumpsuit, Shopbop.com

Mike and Chris one-shoulder mini-dress, Shopbop.com

Banana Republic Classic Trench, bananarepublic.com

Theory platform sandal (with neon pink detail!), piperlime.com

Dark Skies...

It's very gray and rainy out today and I need a little burst of colour. I turned to the Basso & Brooke, Spring '09 collection because, well as you can see, it gives me that fix. I love the obi style belts and graphic prints. I'm not sure I'd be able to rock the shoes, but the other accessories are amazing. Imagine one of these outfits under a crisp white trench... spring perfection!
Can't wait!

Shopaholic Holla!

Last night, the BF and I went to see Confessions of a Shopaholic! It was cute (not oscar worthy, but a great girls-night flick!), but more importantly, just fun to look at!  I have to say that Pat Field's style is quite recognizable now (after watching SATC, the SATC movie, Ugly Betty), so the styling wasn't anything unexpected, which would be disappointing if I was really expecting something different. Isla Fisher was so funny and definitely the perfect choice for the character. I found the character in the book a bit annoying at times, and I think that for once I actually liked the movie better!
PS. how badly do you want to get into her bedroom?! Whenever they showed it in the movie, I almost died- it was definitely heaven in there!
See it NOW!

School Daze...

A few pics from the past few days (except the last random one from the holidays)...the weather has been pretty schizo, so it's hard to know what to wear! I've been bumming it to school quite a bit- I'm ready for a job where I can dress up!

Chocolate Hearts

Happy Valentine's Day Lovers!

I hope everyone has a beautiful day full of love, laughter, friends, and family! If you're one of those people who hates this day, you should definitely rethink it. It doesn't have to be a corporate money -making scheme. And if you don't have a boyfriend/girlfriend, just think of all the other amazing people you have in your life. I see it as a day to celebrate everyone special to you and just give a little extra love! I love you all so much and am sending millions of GIANT long distance hugs and kisses!
