Study Break!

I've been studying like mad for these last few test that just piled up at the end of the semester. I took a few minutes for a pretty snack break (shown below) and now it's back to the books! As soon as this week is over, I can get some serious fun going! This will include lots of pictures and stories! That is, until finals next week!
Oh, and here's a picture of the crazy storm rolling in (last weekend). I wish my camera was a bit better so you could see the dark clouds taking over the sky! One thing about being down here is that there are a lot more thunderstorms. And a lot of the time, they just come out of nowhere and then disappear! It's so crazy and really cool to watch! (I'll work on getting a better picture, but I think it might just be something you have to experience in person.)

Missing: 1 Elegant Eggplant

Yesterday I went grocery shopping and picked out this very elegant eggplant. Somewhere between the check-out and my kitchen, the eggplant disappeared. Or escaped. Either way, it's gone. I used to have a small problem where I would take whichever fruit or vegetable I picked up first. If I noticed a bruise on it after picking it up, I had to take it anyway because I felt sad that it would just lie in the pile while its tougher, better looking relatives got chosen. It's like being the crappy one at sports in elementary school. You stand there all awkward and gawky, while the other kids get picked and picked and picked. It's not your fault your legs and arms suddenly got too long for your body! Anyway, so my eggplant...still missing. Having overcome my "feeling sorry for fruit" problem, I now choose vegetables depending on their looks-it has to have some personality! Sometimes a small deformity can mean a lifelong adventure! I picked through the eggplants until I found the most elegant one. I was so excited! It was so regal... I'm not going to mourn this loss, but next time I'm at the grocery store, I'm keeping one extra eye on my special selections!
Last week, I spent 4 minutes choosing an onion- the one I brought home was peppy and robust. A few days later, when we were making lunch for the magazine crew, Zac noticed how good looking it was! haha. It was awesome! So next time you're picking your produce, why not get the one with a little personality?!

men>women?

On my way home from school last night, I was listening to the radio and this guy was on, talking about how men are better than women. He's been on Dr. Phil and has a book and a website dedicated to his life mission (?) of trying to prove men are the better sex. It was actually VERY entertaining to listen to him and to hear all the callers freaking out. I'll let you form your own opinions before I say anything more about it, but I have to say, if you're easily offended, just don't look at it! www.menarebetterthanwomen.com

I also found out that there is a website where you can watch people rotting in their coffins. I absolutely refuse to visit this one. That is just sick.

Designer of the Week: Christian Lacroix Haute Couture

Christian Lacroix brings a new meaning to volume for spring. If only we had places to wear his amazing clothes! His couture collection, as usual, serves up sensory overload that really requires more than just a walk down the runway to appreciate. His attention to every single detail is incredible and with so much going on, it's incredible how easy everything still looks!

When someone tries to hand me out a flyer, it's kinda like they're saying "Here, YOU throw this out"

Mitch Hedberg reminds me of driving to Hunt's with Joe and hanging out with Val last summer. He's hilarious...so here are some of my favourites!

A waffle is like a pancake with a syrup trap.

I think foosball is a combination of soccer and shish kabobs.

I want to get a vending machine, with fun sized candy bars, and the glass in front is a magnifying glass. You'll be mad, but it will be too late.

Is a hippopotamus a hippopotamus, or just a really cool Opotamus?

Rice is great if you're really hungry and want to eat two thousand of something.

Wearing a turtleneck is like being strangled by a really weak guy, all day. Wearing a backpack and a turtleneck is like a weak midget trying to bring you down.

My friend asked me if I wanted a frozen banana. I said 'No, but I want a regular banana later, so... yeah.

My apartment is infested with koala bears. It's the cutest infestation ever. Way better than cockroaches. When I turn on the light, a bunch of koala bears scatter, but I don't want them too. I'm like, "Hey... Hold on fellows... Let me hold one of you, and feed you a leaf." Koala bears are so cute, why do they have to be so far away from me. We need to ship a few over, so I can hold one, and pat it on its head.

Got Wood?

Wood Magazine is here today interviewing Joe and taking lots of pics and videos! It is SO cool! I am so incredibly proud of him! These guys seem pretty impressed by the project- not that this surprises me because it is the coolest thing ever! I am so happy Joe's getting something out of all his hard work. I have never met anyone who works so hard and has such an amazing attitude about it. Can you tell I have a huge crush on him? With all this car stuff, he still manages to make time to hang out with me! Anyway, as soon as I get more info on the magazine stuff, it'll be up here!

Too Cool For School

I absolutely LOVE Victoria Beckham and her sense of style. The fashion risks she takes are awesome and sometimes very entertaining. She definitely knows how to have fun with clothes which is really what it's all about!

She matched her outfit perfectly to her sons-or vice versa! Either way, this is awesome! Makes me want to accessorize with kids too...
