Balmain Beauties
I was very excited this week to find that model Julia Stegner wore my favourite Balmain dress to the 2008 Bambi awards in Germany. She look incredible and the dress AMAZING!

Lowcountry Lovin'
Happy Black Friday y'all! Joe and I were going to hit up the stores at 4am this morning, but after a 1 second consideration, we opted for sleep instead! It makes sense if you are looking for something like a tv or computer, because there are some pretty crazy deals out there, but since all we want are dvd's, I think it'll be okay!
As you can see, we are still in Charleston and it is so beautiful here! I am in love with these two trees in the front yard. We were heading out to find the Automobile magazine yesterday when I noticed there was a flat tire on the car! After further inspection, we discover 2 nails in the tire.

So Joe got the car on the lift and repaired it in no time! Here he is checking out the underside of the "greeeeen machine"!
I was so helpful by standing out in the sun, trying to get a much needed tan! Can you see how pasty I am? I'm practically reflective! Anyway, less than a month 'til we're in Florida, so I'm excited for that! Kryll and I have a special project in the works which I am very excited for! Plus I get to see her for the first time since LAST christmas! (For those of you who don't know, my awesome sis is in Germany doing some crazy materials engineering work that I don't even try to comprehend the meaning of!) I'm SO excited!!!
Have a beautiful day everyone!

Cookiefest!
As you can see, Cookiefest '08 was a yummy success! It was awesome to see our friends who we hadn't see in forever. Well, like a year, but still...
You can see my minor disaster in the second picture on the bottom. I cut my finger and bled really badly into those last few cookies!
Kidding, that's gross! Anyway, it was super fun!
School and studying
Pouncer is the cutest thing ever! Whenever I'm sitting workingon something, she'll come sit on my lap, or in this case, my chest! She is such a funny creature. Sometimes she'll even watch tv or watch the computer as I work. Here she is giving me a little eskimo kiss!
The other day was the first time I haven't been flying out of the house in a mad rush in forever! Finally things seem to be winding down a bit! Well, sort of. There are 6 days of class left this semester and I still have so many projects to finish!
I found this amazing purple suede skirt at a thrift store for $4!
scarf- borrowed from mom

Happy Thanksgiving!
The cool thing about living in the states now is that I get to have 2 Thanksgivings! Back home it was a few weeks ago, but here it is tomorrow! I have to say that Thanksgiving here is a little crazier than in Canada. I never used to get almost a week off school! We're in Charleston at Joe's dads house to celebrate, which is sweet because it's pretty warm here. We're having our dinner tomorrow and I'm in charge of the mac and cheese! woop woop! So to everyone here and back home, HAPPY TURKEY! Love you all! xoxox

2. Versace
3. Erdem
4. Givenchy
5. Dior
6. Lanvin
7. Bluemarine
8. Oscar de la Renta
Presents '08: Pottery Barn
These wine stoppes are so pretty and make a perfect gift for the wine lover! (Or maybe just for the occasional wine drinker, since then there would be something left in the botttle to cork!) If you're not a wino, these can also be used in sauce bottles, as table decorations, paperweights, or can even replace the cigarette lighter in your car!$19 for both of these pretty things!
I love the idea of mixed patterns and colours on the table, and what better way to do it then with these gorgeous little dessert plates! They are so beautiful and bright- I'd definitely be eating lots of sweet treats if I had these! $39 (set of 4)

Coconut hearts lime
Hi Snow Angels!
Tomorrow we are attending "Cookiefest '08"! I've been trying to figure out what to make for the past few days. For some reason I got lime and coconut stuck in my head and after no luck finding any such cookie, I just took this recipe and added coconut! Martha Stewart would be proud! They are super easy- necessary for me because I mess up with microwave popcorn! I'm sure they won't be the prettiest at the party since I added green food colouring to promote the "lime" part, but they came out a weird reptile-vomit shade. Oops!
Anyhow, I'll leave you with this recipe, in case anyone wants to give them a try! (They'd make a yummy christmas present too- see pretty packaging below!)
Lime Meltaways (yum!)
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup confectioners' sugar
Finely grated zest of 2 limes
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
* add as much coconut as you like!
1 cup confectioners' sugar
Finely grated zest of 2 limes
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
* add as much coconut as you like!
Directions
Put butter and 1/3 cup confectioners' sugar in the bowl and mix til smooth. Add lime zest and juice and vanilla, and mix until fluffy.
Whisk together flour, cornstarch, and salt in a bowl. Add to butter mixture, and mix until just combined.
Roll in parchment to form a log 1 1/4 inches in diameter, pressing a ruler along edge of parchment at each turn to narrow log. Refrigerate until cold and firm, at least 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove parchment from logs; cut into 1/4-inch-thick rounds. Space rounds 1 inch apart on baking sheets. Bake cookies until barely golden, about 13 minutes. Transfer cookies to wire racks to cool slightly, 8 to 10 minutes. While still warm, toss cookies with remaining 2/3 cup sugar in a resealable plastic bag. Cookies can be stored in airtight containers at room temperature up to 2 weeks.
Makes about 3 dozen

Designer of the Week: Alexander Wang
I figured that it's appropriate since he just took home the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund top prize of $200,000 and a year of mentoring. Alexander Wang is only 24, but I'd say he's pretty much got it figured out. These are some looks from his Fall '08 collection. It's dark and sexy with menswear inspired pieces mixed with light fabrics and femme details.

Perfect Presents '08!
Inspire me
Hello beauties!
I'm patiently waiting for the mailman to bring me a special package containing this beautiful dress! The best part of buying stuff online is getting to unwrap it when it finally arrives. It's not often I get clothes off the internet because of my freakish tallness, so I'm hoping this will fit well! I walked around the mall today to do some "research" for a school project. We're supposed to design a line for J. Crew, so I hung out there for awhile and managed to leave with some inspiration and 2 fun items...whooops!
On another note, I found the perfect Christmas present for Joe! I can't expose the secret here, but he's going to looove it!

The Halloweenie
half november
I'm back! Things have been a little crazy lately-just lots of work and my quick trip to NYC! I'm getting excited for the end of the semester! Then it's Christmas, and I haven't even started crossing things of the big list! It's going to be a budget Christmas, that's for sure. But, in some ways, it will be fun because I'll be making lots of presents and doing a little extra treasure hunting. There's nothing more fun than finding (or making) the perfect gift for someone, that will actually be useful! No one needs more clutter these days, so it's always a good idea to get something that will actually be put to good use- or eaten! I have seen some ubercute "designer" chocolate! Yes, I'm a sucker for some nice packaging!
(Pouncerella just crawled onto my lap and is reading this...don't think you're getting anything but a lump of coal, silly kitty! She is so funny-just like a little puppy!)
Oh and I made my banner a little more fun, so enjoy, and sign up on the right to be a babe or baller blog follower! Leaving you with a pic of me in NYC...hailing a cab- I was just pretending but I accidentally got one! ooops!
